As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7
The rainy weather lulls me into a reflective mood today.
So much to do. So many needs. It is difficult to know where to turn first.
My days begin with prayer for direction and to receive His Peace. These words spoke to me early this morning and maybe they will to you.
The essence of optimism is that it takes no account of the present, but it is a source of inspiration, of vitality and hope where others have resigned; it enables a man to hold his head high, to claim the future for himself and not to abandon it to his enemy.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Strong words. The pull to be focused on the negative is always with us.
The doctor’s report. The bill still unpaid. An unwanted divorce. Yes, the list goes on and on.
But let’s not give today to the enemy. Let’s keep our heads held high as Bonhoeffer states and focus on the victory which is ours.
Let’s run the race the lies before us with our heads back and the wind in our face. Let’s run with joy inspiring those around us.
Quite a challenge, don’t you think?
Will you run with me?
Yes…it IS easier to focus on the negative, always. It really pulls me down when I do that, and insomnia follows.
Your writing is so clear, so TIMELY. Thank you for speaking from the heart and for sharing your thoughts in a way that reaches us where we live!
It is a joy to be running the race with you, Bonnie! Your words inspire me and so many others. Thanks for commenting.
