It’s exciting to awaken early on a Saturday morning to go to the local Farmer’s Market.
I find that it’s more than a market.
It’s a meeting of community. A coming together.
People who share their goods
From homemade breads and cinnamon buns
To jams and jellies
Spreads and dips
Colorful vegetables
Hot pink and orange hanging planters
Clear glass vases with pale pink peonies and purple flowers
And so much more.
Today I discovered some new delicacies that I could hardly wait to share with you.
Along with freshly brewed coffee and their famous cinnamon buns
at Moving Meadows Farm
I found some delicious honey whole wheat bread.
It tastes superb with the Blueberry-Lime Jam I bought from Whole Heart Farm.
Artisan breads and various jams and syrups create their attractive display.
So glad I stopped by there this morning.
But the greatest surprise was in seeing one of my kids at GreenHearts Farm.
Julie Brooks along with her sister Jennifer Brooks-Lane laughed as we reminisced about days when I was Julie’s first grade teacher.
Always my children no matter how old they get.
So full of life today.
They showed me their healthy products which interested me
having recently chosen a vegan diet.
It was hard to know what to choose as I looked over their products
But finally I decided on some Samosas.
They look yummy and are made with potatoes, onion, tortilla, and sweet peas
with ginger, cinnamon, chipotle chili pepper and more.
We will enjoy them for dinner tonight.
Plump red strawberries and tasty tomatoes from C & T Produce
rounded out our Farmers Market experience today.
God’s great world continues to give us so much to enjoy.
Blessed beyond measure.
Friend meeting friend. Neighbors chatting.
Don’t you feel the same?
Have a great weekend
and if you couldn’t go today
go to the Farmers Market next Saturday.
