I had a dream, a deep heart longing, to be a mother.

That longing pushed me forward through all the paperwork,

and challenges of flying toRussiato complete an international adoption.

That dream strengthened me to act in spite of my feelings,

to face the mountain of fears,

to push through

until I held my own precious little daughter in my arms.

Never to be forgotten moments.

That desire carried me through sleepless nights

and days as I worked to provide for her.

A vision greater than myself.

A dream bigger than my own limited resources.

A passion that gripped my heart enabling me to ignore everything else that might discourage.

He leads me beside the still waters. Psalms 23:2

Outside I was stretched

inside I was soothed.

Outside I was pressed

but inside I was at peace.

Day by day and with each passing moment

  Strength I find to meet my trials here.

Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment

  I’ve no need for worry or for fear.

It’s been a stretching time recently.

A time when I’ve had to dig deep to move beside those still waters.

A time when I’ve needed to remember His Faithfulness and continued care.

He never changes

and though everything around us may cause us to question

His Presence walks beside us

leading us to those still waters.

A place where you read His Word and you know beyond knowing that He is with you?

A moment when you feel it in the whisper of the breeze

that you are not alone.

the sound of a child’s laughter

the glow of the early sunrise

He continue to strengthen and supply all our needs one day at a time.

Whatever you are facing today

know that He is with you

and let Him lead you to the still waters.

Lift your eyes beyond the immediate challenge

to the vision,

the dream,

the call.

Be strong in His Strength

and embrace His Peace.
