Tim Tebow released by the Jets.
Change. An ending. Time to move on.
Take the Name of Jesus with you
We’d sing that song every Sunday evening before we parted.
That dear congregation in our church in Saugerties,New York,
Voices mingling
the young and the old.
It will joy and comfort give you.
As a young girl of seven I needed His comfort
as I dealt with the challenges of second grade.
A teacher who insisted that I take off my sweater every day in school
although I shivered at the very thought.
A teacher who insisted that I write with my right hand
while I kept carefully printing my letters
as perfectly as possible but with my left hand.
Lemon drop size problems but big to me at that age.
I thought of those worries as I’d raise my voices with the others.
We all need Him, don’t we?
Today I read the headlines of Tebow’s release.
It doesn’t come as a surprise
but still I wonder
what’s next.
The Name of Jesus
Joy and comfort.
There for the taking.
No matter what our problems or difficulties.
We, along with Tebow, face uncertainty every day.
Tomorrow’s plans can so easily disappear
leaving us groping
and fighting fear.
But great peace have those who love your law (Psalms 119: 165)
and nothing can make them stumble.
He is up in front
already preparing for us the next step.
Keep moving forward, my friends,
He knows the future and we can trust Him.
I still write with my left hand
and mind drafty places.
Comfort and peace is always ours as we rest in His Provision
and Plan.
He will never disappoint us.
Precious Name,
O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of heav’n
Take His Joy today and run the race knowing that victory is up ahead.
