Have you been there? Down to nothing? I certainly have. I will never forget those moments of not knowing where to turn. The plans I thought would unfold never did. And I was left trapped in a dark well of grief and loss. But as I groped my way out I discovered the solution of love. The solution of cleaving. The solution of God.
I don’t know where you are today and what you’re dealing with but I know the God is always the solution. Like Ruth of old (Ruth 1-4) we can sometimes find ourselves suddenly facing a wall where we don’t know what to do. Maybe God is drawing you closer to Himself and asking you to go where you don’t want to go. Maybe you are afraid. Are you struggling?
Ruth chose to go with her mother in law to a foreign land. She chose to cleave in love. She chose to claim God as her God. Was she afraid? Most definitely. Love trumped everything for Ruth. She chose to go with Naomi, an angry, bitter old woman. And in so doing she fulfilled her purpose.
Her response was send me. Because where you go I will go. Where you stay, I will stay and your people shall be my people.
So I’m wondering where is God asking you to go?
What is He asking you to do?
